The Good Show is moving back to it’s original Saturday morning slot, 9a to noonish (until DJ Janice kicks us out), starting September 27.
After some extensive consideration, we decided the advantages of promoting the weekend’s best live shows before they actually happen outweighed our evaporating competition in the Sunday night specialty-radio show market in north Texas.
We also missed tapping into the rich demographic of folks who find themselves awake before noon Saturdays, currently starved for liberal doses of decent music and arguably witty banter to accommodate their ritual household chores, chauffeuring kids to sporting events, and working in the glamorous world of the service industry, or simply still awake from that amazing Friday-night show at one of our fine local venues (I suspect this may be the case for the Good Show crew on occasion. Our apologies to you in advance).
With the move, we’re developing a heaping truck load of tasty treats for you good people, including the debut of a shiny new live music series at The Fairmount in November.
We’ll air promos of the news in the upcoming weeks on KTCU, as soon as they’re scrubbed to FFC standards and in the can. We’ll continue to save and post each live broadcast to MP3 for those of you who aren’t awake before noon Saturdays, or simply want to relish the evidence of our broadcast glory over and over again.
So, make plans this Saturday to put on a pot of coffee, or two or three, crank up the radio to 11 in the family van or behind the counter at your place of employment, and tune in.
Just because you find yourself awake Saturday mornings doesn’t mean you have to endure the same old crappy radio anymore.
