TGS No. 438 :: Bob Fante, Father of The Year!

June 20th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Happy Father’s Day,
First Day of Summer,
Nude Hiking Day,
AWOL Governor’s Day!

Eaton Lake Tonic’s long-time nemesis Bob Fante graces the Good Show studios today, debuts a few new tunes live in our Skinnerian Box. His performance is so amazing, so entrancing, it inspires long-time listeners who are fathers to bring their kids to the studio (Hey, Ernie and kids!) to witness the awesome event.

By the way, you still have time to vote in this year’s Dallas Observer Music Awards. The Good Show is nominated for the radio/podcast category. It’s been confirmed, definitely not a typo. We appreciate your vote; but even if you loathe our show, vote anyway. There’s plenty of great talent on the ballot deserving your consideration, many heard on our weird little radio show.

TGS No. 437 :: Nicholas Altobelli!

June 13th, 2009 · 2 Comments

This week’s thunderstorms offered up waves of lightening bolts. One of them hit KTCU’s transmitter and blew out the primary generator. So, we fired up the backup; and frankly, the result was a truly shitty-sounding static-filled broadcast. I managed to recover Nicholas Altobelli’s segment, which features some truly fabulous live performances.

Listen to Nicholas’ appearance here.

The rest of the show? Let’s just say it’s been scrubbed off the fillet station, back into the bay as potential bait for bigger fish. A shame, because we debuted some great tunes; but look for these to resurface on future Good Show broadcasts soon. Welcome back, primary generator. We missed you!

TGS No. 435 :: Starhead & Summertime!

May 29th, 2009 · No Comments

The melodic gestalt of Texas band Starhead fills the Good Show studios today. Tom runs the gerbil-driven transmitter and laser-light show solo while Tony honors his commitment to be a hair model (no joke, he does have a lovely manly mane) and Rambo attends an Opposite Marriage ceremony somewhere in Oklahoma. In spite of CD 2’s on again-off again crankiness, this is one of our better efforts. Listen and judge for youself!

Podcast of the following program here (MP3).
